Lagu ini liriknya dibuat oleh Tim Rice. Musiknya digarap oleh Alan Menken.

Lagu ini awalnya dinyanyikan oleh Brad Kane berduet dengan Lea Salonga.

Tetapi kemudian lagu ini dinyanyikan kembali oleh Peabo Bryson berduet dengan Regina Belle pada tahun 1992.

Lagu A Whole New World yang dinyanyikan oleh Peabo Bryson dan Regina Belle berhasil menduduki peringkat pertama di Billboard Hot 100 di Amerika Serikat pada tahun 1993.

Pada tahun 2019 film Aladdin kembali dirilis dalam versi non animasi.

Zayn berduet dengan Zhavia Ward.
